    Excellent videos! I've been rowing along with you for some time now, and after a few months of your very thorough and expert training I thought I could do it on my own while watching TV. Big mistake. I did a week of daily too-strong push-swing-pull, with the rower set at the highest tension, and ended up with trochanteric bursitis in my right leg and knee bursitis in both knees. I am a 76-year-old female who thinks she's still 40, and have a hard time realizing I have limits!! Once I recover, I'm going to rejoin the Austin circuit and stay there!! You will keep me strong and safe! Thank you!!

    The different in price is not too big. so you can go with the concept 2. but i saw this product in israel with rhe price of 600usd while the concept 2 is around 2200usd. i need it for fitness only and not for proffesional rowing. The machine is good while the pannel is not top of the art but it is good enough for me. BTW in order to do a serious comparison you shoud try the product yourself and then give a review. this is not serious 😅 what you did.

    Hey Austin- 6’10” sub here. You should see if Freak Athlete will send you Nordic Hyper unit to test!! They say they work for up to a 7’ tall user but with all the videos I see it seems like even shorter people struggle with certain exercises. So annoying shopping for home equipment when alot of it isnt made for us (sometimes even the ones marketed for our height). Thats a playlist id watch every video of.

    Condescending and confusing. Perfect for teaching. "You can't use your legs and pull," then explains how you're supposed to use your legs and pull. The only difference from the bad example you had at the beginning and the correct form is delaying the hip swing. The pull naturally comes at the end. Also, in the weird bad example, you didn't even pull. You just used the legs and hip swing. The arms were straight the whole time you scooted back and forth. Is the hip swing the pull, or is bringing your arms back the pull?

      I remember seeing a similar piece of advice for running to “push down” not “lift up” and at first I thought that was ridiculous. But I tried it and it actually worked and improved my running. So it’s actually more of a mental strategy, as we are not actually pushing anything. But it actually helps us to use different parts of our bodies. In this example, when “pulling” he uses his arms and upper body, and as you can see, it would work if the hips were in a steady position. But when he “pushes” he’s mostly pushing from his legs up so you can do it with the flexible hips. By pushing from the legs, your hips will move with the seat. And it won’t strain your upper body/back. Does that make sense? Can you start to see it. It’s such a minor difference but it helps a lot

  • @baracudajr7656
    @baracudajr7656 2 дня назад

    This type of rowing should hit your lats and rhomboids, the best way to get stronger and bigger is to load these muscles with tension and increase the time they are under tension. When you push with your legs it takes the tension off your back and onto your legs. Now your legs are moving the weights and your back is missing out on the most productive part of the actual row which would be the part where it’s under the most tension, in this case it’s the time when the cable is closest to the machine and your arms are fully extended in front of you . A much better way to isolate the back muscles would be to lock your legs and fully extend your arms in front of you then focusing on driving your elbows back as far as you can. If you want to hit your legs with this machine the way he listed above is pretty good but there are significantly better leg exercises even just using body weight if you’re working on a tight budget.

    You actually want as much heel cushion as possible in order to not destroy your heels when you run so zero drop shoes are the worst possible things for running. Also more toe room can make it much more uncomfortable and harder to run in most cases so try to avoid too much extra toe room more than you need.
